Back in 2011, my grandmother had the excellent idea to charter a historic ship known as the Nantucket Lightship. We began our adventure in what has become one of my all-time favorite places in America, Newport, RI. When Melanie and I found out we would be headed on a two-week road trip to my cousin's wedding in Nantucket we knew we had to stop in Newport. While in the city, we stopped at King Park, a lovely little spot on Wellington Avenue which looks out onto Newport Harbor. The park has a really cool gazebo, an awesome beach for collecting shells and features a concrete boat ramp. The park is definitely worth-while stop before you head to the historic Fort Adams or to the mansions on Bellevue Avenue.
