One of our favorite little spots on the island of Nantucket is the secret beach at the end of North Cambridge Street in the village of Madaket on the island of Nantucket located just off Cape Cod. During the summer, most of the beaches on Nantucket can get a little crowded and the water is usually pretty rough depending on where you are. When we were in Nantucket for Phil's cousins wedding, we did a whole lot of exploring. On one of our days of exploration, we decided to check out the sand swept village of Madaket, which came to be our favorite place on the island. As fate would have it, we took a turn onto North Cambridge Street. When we came to the end of the road, we could not believe what we had stumbled upon. In front of us was a gorgeously calm bay facing the island of Tuckernuck, and most importantly, the beach was all ours. This beach is perfect for shelling, splashing around and just plain relaxing. Just about any free time we had on the island was spent in Madaket at this beautiful little strip of sand. If you ever get a chance to make it out to Madaket, make sure to hit this beach up and then head to Millie's for some out-of-this-world fish tacos.
